The last day before the start of the exhibition season probably won't be particularly eventful. It rained all night and there was some standing water on the fields early this morning, so look for Dave Trembley to be cautious on the last workout day before Jeremy Guthrie and the Orioles open up against the Tampa Bay Rays tomorrow at Ed Smith Stadium.
Can't wait. There's only so much PFP (pitchers fielding practice) you can watch before you start to go a little stir crazy. Those bullpen sessions are scintillating, too.
David Hernandez is also scheduled to pitch tomorrow, and he'll unveil the new two-seam fastball that he has added to his repertoire to give hitters another part of the strike zone to worry about.
"That's going to be a big pitch for me,'' Hernandez said. "I knew that if I didn't make any changes, I'm not going to be here very long. I know what I had was good enough in the minor leagues, but that's not the goal."
