Maryland man gets jail, service for leaving dog outside

The Frederick News Post reports that a Thurmont man has been given jail time and community service for leaving his Rotweiller tied to a stake outside in the heat of July. The dog died.

Patrick Flemming, 24, got 90 days in jail and 50 hours of community service that the judge suggested he do at an animal service -- whether they want him or not.

"They may not want you," Judge Janice Rodnick Ambrose said. "But I think you should have to work with animals for what you've done."
