Manumaleuna on Ravens' radar

He's not a household name, but blocking tight end Brandon Manumaleuna is apparently on the Ravens' free-agent radar, according to a league source.

But the Ravens might not be his first choice. After free agency began, the Chicago Tribune reported that Manumaleuna would visit the Chicago Bears on Friday.

He would fill a long-standing void for the Ravens, who have used offensive linemen in the role of a blocking tight end the past two seasons. He also has ties with offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, who coached Manumaleuna in San Diego.

Quinn Sypniewski, the Ravens' previous blocking tight end, was cut last month after knee injuries sidelined him in 2008 and 2009.

Manumaleuna could draw strong interest from the Chicago Bears. He was selected in the fourth round (129 overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. He was traded to San Diego in 2006 for a fourth round pick.
