On Tuesday, I wrote about high-yield checking accounts that pay an average annual yield of 3.3 percent. That's better than the 0.13 percent you typically get.
The survey of banks and credit unions that offer such accounts was done by Bankrate.com. The survey didn't have any Maryland lenders, although some institutions open these accounts to customers across the country.
But Jerry wrote in to say that some Maryland banks do offer these accounts. He writes, "I have one at NBRS in Belair. I believe Baltimore County Savings Bank also has one."
