{Twitter comes to the rescue of those trying to save money, Thanks AP}
If you're looking for a way to get the most for your money, there's a new weekly Twitter chat which may interest you. Natalie McNeal of The Frugalista is the creator of #dealchat, which she describes as a "weekly Twitter chat where we talk about ways to find the best savings to live our life." Each Wednesday night, McNeal and her Twitter buddies convene to share money-saving ideas. She says the conversation is open to all. "Anyone on Twitter is invited to have a conversation about finding the best deals using the hash tag #dealchat," McNeal says.
The group discusses ways to save money on travel, entertainment, fashion, food and other goods and services. The first chat took place Feb. 17, and lasted 30 minutes, but that wasn't enough time for people to share their ways to save money. McNeal says the chats were then extended to an hour. She's already received feedback from people who have scored discounts on Broadway tickets, learned how to get deals on fashionable duds and, through the help of a travel agent, learned ways to get great deals the next time they travel.
So here's the skinny: #dealchat takes place every Wednesday night at 8. Use the hashtag #dealchat (and to see what folks are saying search #dealchat in the trending topics search box). This week's topic is gifting ahead of Mother's Day, Father's Day and the busy spring/summer wedding season.
