Peter Czerwinski traveled all the way from Toronto, Canada to Columbia just so he could eat wings. 114 wings to be exact.
The first annual Wing Wars, organized by Holly Poultry in Baltimore, took place Saturday, March 13, at Sonoma's in Columbia. Czerwinski, who has competed and won in dozens of other events, ate 38 wings in the four minute qualifying round, and 76 in the eight minute championship round to win the $700 grand prize.
