AirTran will begin daily service from Baltimore to Huntsville/Decatur at the end of May. The airline will offer four daily flights (2 inbound/2 outbound) with fares starting at $99 each way. AirTran will also offer new service from Orlando to Huntsville around the same time. Flights begin May 27-28.
"Connecting Huntsville to two of our largest operations gives residents access not only to our award-winning service and low-fares but to virtually our entire network," AirTran said in a statement. The airline also said it is the only low-cost carrier to provide service from BWI-Huntsville.
"Rocket City," as Huntsville is called, is known for its high-tech/space community and recently was named a "Destinctive Destination" by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
