A quick look at next season

Let's take a quick look at next season. For Terps fans, that's no doubt preferable to watching replays of Korie Lucious for the 47th time. No matter how many times you watch the replay, he's still going to make that game-winning shot -- trust me.

A more cheerful thought for the Terps backers is that some of the players who were on the floor when Maryland made its comeback -- think Adrian Bowie and Cliff Tucker -- are returning next season.

The comeback resulted from full-court defensive pressure, and that's something that Bowie and Tucker -- who both possess quickness --can be good at. Tucker had a key steal with Maryland trailing 80-76 and 1:31 left. Returning forwards Dino Gregory and Jordan Williams are. also important defensively, as is Sean Mosley.

So I see the Terps being well-suited to having a good press again next season.

Scoring is another issue. I wrote in today's paper that seniors Greivis Vasquez, Eric Hayes and Landon Milbourne accounted for more than half -- 43.2 out of 79.6 -- of Maryland's points per game entering Sunday's play.

Since I'm soon headed for some time off, we'll leave that topic for another day.
