What do you think about the news that Walmart could come to the new shopping center proposed for 25th Street in Baltimore?
The news that a Lowes home center might anchor 25th Street Station, the retail-housing complex proposed for the Anderson Automotive dealership, seemed to excite some nearby residents. But the possibility that a Walmart could move in is bringing more mixed reactions.
There's the good news touted by supporters: the store would create jobs. It could give more city residents the choice to buy Walmart's low-price goods --- an option now available to those who can travel to the county or to the city location in Port Covington.
And then there's the disadvantages raised by opponents of this Walmart Lowes development who refute the job creation claims and challenge the notion that these chain retailers actually save nearby residents money in the long run. We want to know what consumers think ...
... whether you're a longtime Walmart customer, someone who avoids shopping there at all costs, or if you fall somewhere in between.
