Silver Spring-based TLC cable channel has settled its suit with Jon Gosselin, which means the kids could soon be back on TV. What do you think about that?
The suit that was filed in a Maryland court found TLC alleging that Gosslin had violated his contract with the cable company by appearing on other channels and giving interviews other online and TV venues. Gosselin countered that the TLC contract that bound him and his family to the reality TV series, "Jon & Kate Plus 8" was overly restrictive and one that was entered into without full understanding.
Gosselin had refused to let TLC film his children, and some analysts saw all the legal manuevering as an effort by TLC to get Gosselin to allow the network to resume filming his family. He and his wife, Kate, are divorced.
The settlement is certainly no surpise to readers of this blog given the way TLC has been leaning on Gosselin. It was expected from the moment last year when TLC was granted an injunction that essentially prohibited Gosslin from working anywhere in media except on TLC.
But I wonder if the Gosselins will ever be back on TV given all the enmity directed against Kate, who was once being promoted as the ideal mom. What's your guess?
