BL's Steele named a "Red Zone" Player of the Year

Boys' Latin's Patrick Steele, the workhorse senior running back who led the Lakers to the MIAA B Conference title game, has been named a national Old Spice Red Zone Player of the Year.

One of 50 players chosen from 10,000 participating high schools across the country, Steele and the other winners were selected for their critical play in the red zone.

According to the news release announcing his selection:

The Old Spice Red Zone High School Football Player of the Year program recognizes those high school football players who elevate their play and that of their teammates in the Red

Zone. The Red Zone athlete embodies and exemplifies leadership and performance. He's the

one player the coach looks to when the game is truly on the line.

Coach Richie Schell, "Patrick worked diligently and never looked back. ... He

is tough and never gives up."
