The Broncos are expected to trade Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall soon after March 5, when the NFL's trading and free-agency period opens, the Denver Post reported Thursday.
Marshall was benched by Broncos coach Josh McDaniels just before the regular-season finale for non-injury-related reasons. He had 101 catches in Denver this season, his third straight year with over 100 receptions.
The Ravens desperately need to upgrade at wide receiver, but a team source said the Ravens would prefer to add a wide receiver in the draft instead of through a trade. Acquiring Marshall could require first- and third-round picks.
Before his problems with McDaniels, Marshall has had several legal issues, which make him a high-risk proposition.
After a Pro Bowl practice, Marshall was quiet about his future.
"I'm not talking," he told the Denver Post. "I've had enough publicity."
