Ravens running back Ray Rice finished the regular season with more than 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 1,339 rushing yards -- while making just $385,000.
That production and relatively paltry salary has not gone unnoticed. VIZIO has nominated Rice as one of five finalists for its Top Value Performer award, given to the NFL player who most outperforms his contract.
The other four finalists are San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson, Denver Broncos linebacker Elvis Dumervil, Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker and New York Giants wide receiver Steve Smith. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel -- then with the New England Patriots -- won the award last year and Jaguars quarterback David Garrard won in 2007.
