Today marks the one-year anniversary of the splash landing of US Airways Flight 1549 into the icy Hudson River. The survivors and their families got together to celebrate their luck at the very spot where the plane went down, riding on one of the very same ferries that rescued them from the water a year ago. At 3:31 p.m., they raised their glasses for a toast. The Associated Press reports that some of the passengers had planned to make the toast with Grey Goose vodka, in a nod to the birds that disabled the jet on that fateful day. No matter the beverage, I'm sure it was a sweet moment.
