One "W," one "L" for the Ravens

Good news and bad news for the Ravens in terms of weekly honors.

First, the good news. Running back Ray Rice was selected as the Week 14 FedEx Ground Player of the Week award.

Rice, who carried the football 13 times for 166 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 48-3 rout of the Detroit Lions, accrued more votes than the San Francisco 49ers' Frank Gore (25 rushes for 167 yards and one touchdown) and the Green Bay Packers' Ryan Grant (20 rushes for 137 yards and two touchdowns).

FedEx will make a $1,000 donation in Rice's name to the local Safe Kids USA coalition in Baltimore to help fund child and pedestrian safety.

Now, the bad news. Offensive tackle Michael Oher was not successful in his bid to be named the Pepsi Rookie of the Week honor.

Although Oher was part of a Ravens offense that compiled a franchise-record 548 total yards (308 rushing and 240 passing) and five rushing touchdowns and allowed zero sacks, the winner was Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo, who registered 4 sacks, 6 tackles and 1 forced fumble in a win against the Oakland Raiders.
