See Olbermann denounce healthcare 'reform' bill

IF you have not seen Keith Olbermann's denunciation of the hopelessly compromised healthcare reform bill now in the Senate, check this out.

Yes, I am talking about the bill President Obama and Rahm Emanuel, his chief of staff, are playing super hardball on out of some strange conviction that it must be passed by the end of the year.

That's the one Olbermann denounces here. Many are emphasizing Olbermann's over the top claim that he will go to jail before he'll let the government force him to buy healthcare insurance under a plan like this, and that's fine. It's a good headline. But I think the politics in and around it are far more fascinating.

Despite our many differences during this last year, I say, go Keith, go. Despite all the "worst person nominations" sent my way, I applaud you calling this proposed bill out for what it is. I wonder, though, how Team Obama feels about it. By the way, I am also wondering how some of my colleagues, friends and commenters on the left felt about President Obama's performance of the Oprah Winfrey Christmas special from the White House Sunday when he boasted of his ability to buy expensive gifts for his wife like the pearl necklace he directed the camera's attention to. You can read my take here.
