Linebacker Ray Lewis, free safety Ed Reed, tight end Todd Heap and running back Matt Lawrence did not appear to take part in Ravens practice this afternoon. Lewis, who dealt with a foot issue last week, and Reed, who has been playing despite a sore right wrist, were not present during the portion of practice open to the media. Heap was there, but he stood on the sideline wearing a baseball cap. Lawrence, who injured his knee in Monday night's 16-0 win against the Cleveland Browns, was also absent.
Defensive tackle Haloti Ngata (sprained right ankle), cornerback Fabian Washington (bruised left thigh) and linebacker Tavares Gooden (concussion) were present and active in special-teams and individual drills.
The team officially announced placing safety Haruki Nakamura (broken right ankle) on injured reserve. To fill Nakamura's spot, rookie safety K.J. Gerard was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad.
The Ravens signed defensive back Marcus Paschal to the practice squad.
