Ben Roethlisberger will not play against the Ravens on Sunday night because the Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterback is suffering from concussion-related symptoms, Fox Sports reported via twitter.
There has been no official confirmation from the Steelers.
Dennis Dixon, a fifth-round pick in 2008 who has been the Steelers' No. 3 quarterback all season, will make his first start. Long-time backup Charlie Batch (wrist) has already been declared out.
Roethlisberger left last Sunday's game at Kansas City after taking a shot to the head. Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin said all week that Roethlisberger would start Sunday's pivotal game between the Ravens (5-5) and Steelers (6-4). But Roethlisberger has been suffering from exercise-induced headaches, according to Fox Sports.
NFL Network first reported on Friday at Roethlisberger might miss his first game of the season.
