In praise of Peyton

Veteran Ravens defensive end Trevor Pryce has heard it all or seen it all during 13 seasons in the NFL. But he still doesn't quite have the answer for how to deal with Peyton Manning's precision passing game.

"Every time I've played against Peyton Manning, I get that question," Pryce said. "And every time I get it, I answer it differently. And I'm always wrong. So I really don't know.

"Quite honestly, the best way to do it, is you can't put him on the field," Pryce continued. "The only entity on a football field that can stop Peyton Manning is the sideline. The best defensive player is the sideline. You keep Peyton on the sideline, you have a chance. You can say it's the blitz, or the pass rush or coverage. People have tried everything every year and continuously come up with exotic schemes … and it doesn't really matter."
