Sticking to routine, the Ravens practiced on the field furthest from the area the media is permitted. Thus, it was difficult to nail down every player on the roster.

What could be determined was that offensive tackle Jared Gaither was not present, which certainly diminishes his chances of playing Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Gaither, who is dealing with a severe neck injury suffered in the second quarter of Sunday's 27-21 loss to the New England Patriots, did not practice Wednesday or Thursday.

I did not see wide receiver Demetrius Williams (illness) out there, but director of media relations Chad Steele confirmed that Williams was on the field.

Another note of interest: the media was allowed to watch practice after the special teams session had ended, which is unusual because the media is generally permitted to watch special teams. One might speculate that the coaches did not want to see whether Lardarius Webb or Chris Carr was handling a majority of the kick returns.
