The Triple-A Norfolk Tides take on the Charlotte Knights in a doubleheader at Harbor Park, and the Double-A Bowie Baysox return home to Prince George's Stadium to face the Binghamton Mets.
The Single-A Frederick Keys welcome the Kinston Indians to Harry Grove Stadium, and the Single-A Delmarva Shorebirds meet the Lake County Captains at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.
The short-season Single-A Aberdeen IronBirds play the Tri-City ValleyCats, and the Rookie-level Bluefield Orioles host the Burlington Royals at Bowen Field.
Outfielder Lou Montanez, who played in two games with the Rookie-level GCL Orioles earlier this week, will continue his injury rehabilitation assignment with the Keys over the next three days.
Montanez, the third overall selection in the 2000 MLB draft by the Chicago Cubs, batted .204 with one home run and six RBIs in 18 games with the Orioles this season before injuring his thumb. The 27-year-old outfielder underwent surgery to repair a torn ligament.
Montanez was 2-for-6 with an RBI during his two-game stint with the GCL Orioles.
Shorebirds starting pitcher Nathan Moreau was placed on the temporary inactive list. The 22-year-old left-hander is heading to Georgia to begin the fall semester for college, according to the team, and he won't return in 2009.
In order to replace Moreau, left-hander Nicholas Haughian was promoted from the IronBirds to Aberdeen.
Also, Delmarva first baseman Joe Mahoney and left-hander Brett Bordes head to the Keys from Delmarva.
No word on other moves at this time, but I'll keep you updated as I hear them.
