Preparation for Chargers will be easier than Chiefs

San Diego is a better offensive team than Kansas City, but the Ravens will be better prepared to play the Chargers.

Because the Chiefs fired their offensive coordinator, Chan Gailey, 10 days before the season opener, the Ravens didn't really know what to expect from the Chiefs.

The players went back and studied game film from the Arizona Cardinals last season because Chiefs coach Todd Haley was then the Cardinals' offensive coordinator.

Last week, and for the rest of the season, he will call the Chiefs' offensive plays. The Ravens also had to study Kansas City game film from a year ago to watch the Chiefs' personnel.

"They did surprise us a couple of times," said Ravens safety Dawan Landry of the Chiefs.
