The Ravens, who were among a handful of teams interested in former Eagles wide receiver Hank Baskett, lost out on the free agent wide receiver. He is expected to sign with the Colts this morning. He became a free agent after he surprisingly cleared waivers Wednesday.
Teams didn't submit a claim because they would have had to pay his $1.5 million restricted free agent tender.
Last season for the Eagles he caught 33 passes for 440 yards and three touchdowns, including one for 90 yards. In his career he has 72 catches for 1,052 yards in just over three seasons.
The 27-yeard-old Baskett has size (6-foot-4, 220 pounds) and speed (three of his career touchdowns are for longer than 85 yards). The Eagles kept seven receivers going into the season after drafting three the last two years.
Baskett played collegiately at New Mexico before signing as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings. He was traded to the Eagles in 2006.
