Ravens receiver Kelley Washington has talked a lot this summer about what he learned during his two years with the Patriots, including the cultivation of a new work ethic.
What he had to say about Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was both intriguing and revealing, though. According to Washington, Brady made a tape of Patriot practices each week and on Saturday before a game, he'd hold a meeting with just the qbs and receivers. No coaches.
"He goes over what he liked in practice, what he wants you to do," Washington said. "Stuff like that. He was like another coach. He had his own meetings. If he wanted a meeting with the receivers, he'd schedule it and you'd be there. That's why he's great."
Washington believes in having a strong relationship with his quarterback.
"We (Patriots receivers] worked every single day on our skills, and we really had a good camaraderie with Tom. ... He's the captain; you have to be on the same page."
Now Washington is working on the same kind of relationship with Joe Flacco.
