Second-year kicker Steven Hauschka made a 21-yard field goal with 6:15 left in the first quarter to give the Ravens a 3-0 lead tonight over the Washington Redskins at M&T Bank Stadium.

The kick by Hauschka, who is trying to replace the only kicker in Ravens history, Matt Stover, capped a 13-play, 67-yard drive. It took 5:47.

The Ravens were forced to kick the field goal when they were stopped on a third down-and-3 play when quarterback Joe Flacco's pass to veteran wide receiver Derrick Mason was tipped at the goal line.

The Ravens defense stopped the Redskins on their first two drives.
