An Unleashed reader brought this to my attenion: A Michigan lawmaker has proposed a $3,500 tax deduction for pet care. How great would that be?!?!?!

U.S. Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, R-Mich., recently introduced a bill known as the HAPPY Act. House Resolution 3501, or the Humanity and Pets Partnered Through the Years, would amend the Internal Revenue Code to allow an individual to deduct up to $3,500 for "qualified pet care expenses."
