Kicker rotation not set for Jets

Ravens special teams coach Jerry Rosburg said the team hasn't decided which kicker will start the second preseason game.

In the preseason opener, Steve Hauschka kicked in the first half and Graham Gano got his chances in the second half. Hauschka was 2-for-2 on field goals, and Gano hit one of two (missing a 28-yarder).

"I think this training camp has played out very much like we thought it would, because I think both of them have had ample opportunities and both of them have succeeded in a lot of opportunities," Rosburg said. "But they've also had some rough spots, and in my view, it's exactly what we thought it was going to be. It was going to be a great battle, and it has panned out to be exactly that."

Coach John Harbaugh said the kicking battle is more than just makes and misses.

"Makes and misses marks are the bottom line, but the way the ball tracks, the way it comes off their foot [is important]," he said. "You can hit one through there, a worm-burner, and just cross the upright. We're not too excited about that because it's probably going to get batted down in real life. The way the ball tracks is really important, too, and we chart all that, too."
