Relief pitchers Jim Hoey and Luis Lebron each turned in a poor outing for the Baysox. Hoey gave up two runs and two hits in 1 1/3 innings, while Lebron allowed three runs and two hits in two-thirds of an inning.
Recap: Starting pitcher Angel Cespedes gave up one run and four hits in eight innings, and the Orioles beat the Rays, 6-4. The 19-year-old right-hander collected three strikeouts and walked two batters.
Orioles third baseman Anyi Tejeda collected a double and two RBIs, and first baseman David Anderson was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
Center fielder Grolmann Gonzalez was 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored for the Orioles, while catcher David Calderon added an RBI and two runs scored.
Relief pitcher Christopher Schmitt tossed a scoreless inning to pick up his first save of the season for the Orioles. The 22-year-old right-hander hasn't allowed any hits in six innings so far in 2009.
