The rookie-level Bluefield Orioles came alive late for a blowout win over the Kingsport Mets, and the rookie-level GCL Orioles earned a win over the GCL Red Sox.

Before tonight's game, the Orioles released Lee Ellis. The 24-year-old outfielder batted .210 with nine RBIs in 36 games for the IronBirds last season. He was on Aberdeen's disabled list to start the 2009 season.
