The short-season Single-A Aberdeen IronBirds topped the Staten Island Yankees in extra innings.

The rookie-level Bluefield Orioles fell to the Elizabethton Twins, and the rookie-level Gulf Coast League Orioles failed to get a hit in a loss to the Gulf Coast League Twins.

Norfolk Tides (AAA)

Recap: First baseman Brandon Snyder was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Tides to a 4-2 victory over Pawtucket at Harbor Park.

Norfolk third baseman Jolbert Cabrera collected two hits, including a solo home run, and right fielder Jeff Fiorentino hit a double and scored a run.

Starting pitcher David Hernandez retired all 12 batters he faced for the Tides before being removed after four innings. The 24-year-old right-hander struck out four hitters and threw 28 of his 40 pitches for strikes.

I sent e-mails to a few people asking why he was pulled early, and I'll pass along anything that I hear. It's a good possibility that he could be on his way back to Baltimore, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Tides relief pitcher Ross Wolf (4-2) tossed two scoreless innings to pick up the victory. The 26-year-old right-hander allowed one hit and collected two strikeouts.

Former Orioles relief pitcher Rocky Cherry surrendered two runs and three hits in 1 2/3 innings for Pawtucket. The 29-year-old right-hander is 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA in 23 appearances for the Red Sox this season.Bowie Baysox (AA)

Recap: Relief pitcher Josh Perrault (0-2) recorded only one out in the ninth inning, and he allowed three runs and four hits as the Baysox suffered a 5-4 loss to Binghamton.

Bowie designated hitter Ambiorix Concepcion was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, and second baseman Miguel Abreu added two hits and an RBI.

First baseman Mike Costanzo was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored, and catcher Adam Donachie also scored a run.

Baysox starting pitcher Bobby Livingston gave up two runs and 10 hits in six innings. The 26-year-old left-hander struck out two batters and issued one walk.

Aberdeen IronBirds (A)

Recap: First baseman T.J. Baxter was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored in the IronBirds' 4-3 win over Staten Island in 10 innings at Ripken Stadium.

Aberdeen infielder Garabez Rosa added two hits and two RBIs, while designated hitter Zach Booker collected an RBI.

Starting pitcher Colin Allen allowed three runs in four innings for the IronBirds. The 22-year-old right-hander gave up two hits and issued three walks, but he didn't factor in the decision. Aberdeen relief pitcher Scott Mueller (1-0) retired all nine batters he faced to pick up the victory.

IronBirds catcher Brian Ward was 2-for-3 with a walk.

Bluefield Orioles (Rookie)

Recap: Starting pitcher Vito Frabizio only allowed one hit in 6 1/3 scoreless innings, but the Orioles fell to Elizabethton, 4-1, at Bowen Field. The 19-year-old right-hander struck out nine batters and issued three walks.

Bluefield first baseman Mike Flacco collected his first professional hit when he tripled in the bottom of the eighth inning, and left fielder Jose Kianes was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Orioles relief pitcher Thomas Phelps (0-1) gave up four runs and five hits in 1 2/3 innings, and Chase Phillips pitched a scoreless inning.

GCL Orioles (Rookie)

Score: GCL Twins 5, GCL Orioles 0 (Box score)

Recap: Three Twins pitchers combined to no-hit the Orioles in a 5-0 loss. A double play in the eighth inning erased a one-out walk to Orioles designated hitter Xavier Lopez, eliminating the team's only base runner.

Twins starting pitcher B.J. Hermsen tossed six innings, relief pitcher Dakota Watts walked one batter in two innings, and Jose Gonzalez finished with a scoreless inning.

Starting pitcher Angel Cespedes (0-1) gave up three runs (one earned) and five hits in seven innings for the Orioles. The 19-year-old right-hander collected two strikeouts and issued two walks.
