Baysox right fielder Ambiorix Concepcion made an impressive running catch to rob Reading first baseman Brian Stavisky of an extra-base hit to lead off the top of the fifth inning.

Phillies shortstop Ozzie Chavez followed with a single up the middle, and he stole second base with Brad Harman at the plate.

Harman grounded into a fielder's choice when Baysox starting pitcher Tim Bascom caught Chavez heading to third base and got him out after a brief rundown. Bowie catcher Guillermo Rodriguez threw out Harman attempting to steal to end the top of the fifth.

Bowie center fielder Dave Krynzel struck out to start the bottom of the fifth. Concepcion grounded out to shortstop, and left fielder Joe Nowicki lined out to second base for the final out.

Reading catcher Tuffy Gosewisch struck out, but reached on a passed ball by Rodriguez to begin the top of the sixth. Center fielder Quintin Berry moved Gosewisch over to second base with a sacrifice bunt for the Phillies, and right fielder Gus Milner popped up to shortstop for the second out. Left fielder Michael Taylor flied out to end the top of the sixth.

Rodriguez started the bottom of the sixth by grounding out to third base. Third baseman Jonathan Tucker flied out to center field for the Baysox, and shortstop Robert Valido lined a single to right-center field. Bowie first baseman Brandon Snyder struck out for the final out of the bottom of the sixth.

Through six innings, it's still scoreless at Prince George's Stadium. Each team has three hits.
