Live: Baysox vs. Reading -- Locked in a duel

After Reading catcher Tuffy Gosewisch singled to start the top of the third inning, Baysox starting pitcher Tim Bascom struck out Phillies center fielder Quintin Berry for the second time. Then, Bascom forced Reading right fielder Gus Milner to hit into a double play to end the inning.

Baysox left fielder Joe Nowicki reached on an infield single to start the bottom of the third. Bowie catcher Guillermo Rodriguez grounded into a double play, and third baseman Jonathan Tucker struck out.

Reading left fielder Michael Taylor popped out to third base to begin the top of the fourth. Phillies designated hitter Jeremy Slayden struck out swinging, and third baseman Neil Sellers grounded out to end the top of the fourth.

Through four innings, Bascom has thrown 54 pitches (35 strikes).

In the bottom of the fifth, Bowie shortstop Robert Valido grounded out to third base. Then, Baysox designated hitter Brandon Snyder walked, and first baseman Mike Costanzo struck out. Bowie second baseman Miguel Abreu grounded out to the pitcher for the final out of the bottom of the fourth.
