After nine consecutive victories, the Triple-A Norfolk Tides lost tonight.

The Double-A Bowie Baysox also suffered a loss, but the Single-A Frederick Keys and Single-A Delmarva Shorebirds both were victorious.

Norfolk Tides (AAA)

Score: Durham Bulls 4, Norfolk Tides 1 (Box score)

Recap: Starting pitcher David Pauley (1-2) was charged with three runs and six hits in 6 1/3 innings, and the Tides suffered a 4-1 loss to Durham.

Norfolk right fielder Jeff Fiorentino was 2-for-4 with an RBI double, while designated hitter Nolan Reimold was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Catcher Matt Wieters and left fielder Oscar Salazar each added a double for the Tides.

Bob McCrory allowed one run and five hits in 1 2/3 innings for the Tides, and Andy Mitchell retired all three batters he faced.Bowie Baysox (AA)

Score: Reading Phillies 5, Bowie Baysox 3 (Box score)

Recap: For the first time this season, an opposing team was able to score against Bowie relief pitcher Chad Thall (1-1). The 23-year-old left-hander gave up four runs and four hits in two innings, and Reading edged the Baysox, 5-3.

Second baseman Paco Figueroa, who dropped down to the No. 3 spot in the batting order, was 1-for-4 with an RBI for the Baysox. Brandon Snyder, Melvin Dorta and Jonathan Tucker each had a hit and a run scored for Bowie.

Baysox starting pitcher Bobby Livingston pitched well, but he didn't factor in the decision. The 26-year-old left-hander only gave up one run and six hits in six innings.

Frederick Keys (A)

Score: Frederick Keys 6, Potomac Nationals 3 (Box score)

Recap: Brian Matusz gave up two solo home runs to Potomac third baseman Stephen King, but the 22-year-old left-hander also collected eight strikeouts in the Keys' 6-3 win.

Matusz allowed three runs (two earned) and six hits in six innings for Frederick.

Keys third baseman Tyler Henson committed his eighth error of the season, but he was also 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Right fielder Billy Rowell was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored for Frederick, and left fielder Kraig Binick was 1-for-2 with a run scored. He was also hit by a pitch twice in the game.

Frederick relief pitcher Luis Lebron picked up his second save after tossing one scoreless inning.

Delmarva Shorebirds (A)

Recap: Starting pitcher Nathan Nery (2-0) tossed five scoreless innings in the Shorebirds' 4-1 victory over Lake County. The 23-year-old left-hander struck out four batters and gave up four hits.

Delmarva second baseman Jedidiah Stephen was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. First baseman Elvin Polanco had two hits for the Shorebirds, and catcher Brendan Monaghan was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Brandon Cooney pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his third save of the season for the Shorebirds.

Delmarva starting catcher Luis Bernardo was replaced by Monaghan in the third inning due to right elbow soreness.
