Three of the four full-season affiliates in the Orioles' minor league system will play during the day, while the Triple-A Norfolk Tides conclude their two-game series against the Gwinnett Braves at 7:15 p.m.

Norfolk placed starting pitcher Jason Berken on the disabled list, retroactive to April 27, with a groin injury. The 25-year-old right-hander left his last start on April 26 against the Durham Bulls after three innings.

Also, the Single-A Delmarva Shorebirds announced that right-hander Andy Schindling was released by the Orioles today. The 22-year-old relief pitcher allowed nine runs (eight earned) in two innings for the Shorebirds this season. He only gave up four hits, but walked six hitters in three appearances.

* Hill is expected to throw between 65 to 70 pitches in his second rehab start, according to Orioles manager Dave Trembley. The 29-year-old left-hander allowed one run and one hit in his first rehab appearance for the Single-A Frederick Keys on April 24. Hill struck out three batters and didn't allow any walks in the game.

* Redmond gave up five runs (two earned) and eight hits in five innings against the Charlotte Knights on April 23. The 23-year-old right-hander collected two strikeouts and walked one batter in Gwinnett's 7-5 loss. * Erbe can't seem to catch a break in 2009. The 21-year-old right-hander allowed seven runs in 14 innings during his first three starts, but only two were earned. Still, he is 0-3 this season despite having a 1.29 ERA. Erbe collected 16 strikeouts and issued seven walks in his first three games. He allowed one earned run and seven hits in five innings against the Reading Phillies in his last start on April 24.

* In three starts so far this season for Erie, Figaro only gave up two runs and eight hits in 18 2/3 innings. The 24-year-old right-hander struck out 17 hitters and issued five walks in that span. Figaro allowed two runs and three hits in six innings against the Harrisburg Senators on April 23. He collected eight strikeouts and walked one batter in the game.

* Mariotti is scheduled to make his second start of the season for the Keys. Mariotti struck out 16 hitters and issued three walks in 15 2/3 innings during his first five appearances in 2009.

* Lowe allowed three runs and four hits in six innings against the Wilmington Blue Rocks in his last start on April 24. The 24-year-old right-hander struck out five hitters and walked one in Winston-Salem's 6-5 victory. Overall, opponents are batting .220 against Lowe in 2009, and right-handed hitters are only hitting .115.

* McCurry is still searching for his first victory in 2009, but that doesn't mean he hasn't pitched well. The 23-year-old left-hander allowed two runs and five hits in six innings against the Lake County Captains in his last start on April 23. McCurry struck out seven batters and issued two walks in the game. Overall, he collected 18 strikeouts in 16 innings during his first three starts.

* Sanchez is scheduled to make his second start of the season against the Shorebirds. The 21-year-old right-hander, who used to be a catcher, allowed three runs in 2/3 of an inning against Delmarva on April 12. He walked three hitters and collected two strikeouts in the game. In his last start, however, Sanchez tossed five scoreless innings with nine strikeouts against the Hagerstown Suns on April 23.

* Kyle Hudson is currently on a seven-game hitting streak for the Shorebirds. The 22-year-old outfielder is batting .375 (9-for-24) during that stretch. Last night, Hudson picked up three stolen bases, which puts him in fourth place in the South Atlantic League for the season (nine).
