Koji Uehara was very sharp in his first inning against the Dominican Republic's WBC team, throwing just nine pitches (seven strikes) and giving up just one questionable hit. He didn't throw his first non-strike until he faced cleanup hitter David Ortiz, getting him on a fly out to right to end the inning.
Miguel Tejada looks like he's having fun at third base. When his former double play partner Brian Roberts came to the plate in the bottom of the first inning, Tejada pantomimed squaring to bunt to taunt him to lay one down. Roberts did not oblige.
Scoring update: Orioles third baseman Ty Wigginton just hit a monster shot off Dominican pitcher Johnny Cueto to give the Orioles a 3-0 lead in the first inning. The ball was crushed and landed well up the third base line on the practice field behind the left field fence.
