Jennifer Hudson is on a roll.
Hudson minutes ago won the Outstanding New Artist Award at the NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles.
She received a standing ovation as she received the award.
"Don't start me to crying again yall,'' said the bright-eyed Oscar winner and recent Grammy winner. "It always feels like home coming here. Thanks for all your amazing support. ...Of course, I want to thank God for this. He is keeping me and my family back home.''
Minutes later it was announced that Beyonce beat out Hudson for Outstanding Female Artist.

Hudson is returning to public life after three months of mourning the deaths of her mother, brother and nephew, who were murdered in Chicago. Her return to the spotlight began at the Super Bowl where she sang the National Anthem.
