Dr. Bobby Jones and The Dixie Hummingbirds are on a list of gospel artists to become the newest members of the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
Others on the list include Michael W. Smith, Dolly Parton and Lari Goss.

A native of Tennessee, Jones is a regular presence on BET and Gospel Music Channel networks. His most celebrated gospel show is "Bobby Jones Gospel," which has been on the air for more than 30 years. Jones is a Dove and NAACP Image award winner.
The Dixie Hummingbirds formed in 1928 in Greenville, S.C. The group has been a huge influence to both gospel and secular artists. In 1973, the group sang harmony vocals on Paul Simon's single "Loves Me Like A Rock.''
