Tyler Perry film full of gospel music

"The Family that Preys" has a lot of redeeming themes, which adds to the genuine sound of gospel or spiritual music from Gladys Knight, Mavis Staples, The Quartet All-Stars, Candi Stanton and Crissy Collins.

The film, except for some editing, is one of Tyler's all-around best. It's geared to a general audience that isn't necessarily African-American.

The movie, which stars Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard among others, includes gospel or spiritual songs such as Stanon's "When Will I?,'' Collins' "Jesus Loves Me,'' Staples' "Have A Little Faith,'' Knight's "I Hope You Dance'' and the Quartet's "Down By the Riverside'' and "Closer Walk With Thee.''
