Manager Dave Trembley just held a team meeting to remind the Orioles -- young and old -- of their responsibility to keep competing hard for the final weeks of the season. He said afterward that he will continue to put the best possible team on the field when the O's are playing a team that is still in playoff contention.

"It's part of the etiquette of the game,'' he said.

The Minnesota Twins, of course, are right near the top of that list -- battling to the wire with the White Sox in the American League Central. They enter tonight's game one game behind the Sox and 5 1/2 games behind the Red Sox for the wild card lead.

"They're right in the think of it,'' Trembley said. "Obviously, these games are very meaningful to them, so it will be a good test for us."

Possible lineup change: Look for Melvin Mora to be moved into the DH spot before the game and Aubrey Huff to play third base. Trembley does not want to put Mora and his sore hamstring on a slippery field.
