I'm heading out the door in a few minutes to take my physical - the first for me since, I believe, high school - but I wanted to crank out a quick entry.

Adam Loewen pitched on consecutive nights for the first time since beginning his injury rehab assignment, tossing another scoreless inning for Double-A Bowie. He's supposed to report to Triple-A Norfolk and appear in one game over the weekend before the Orioles decide what to do with him.

Perhaps we'll see Loewen back in Baltimore next week, when the Orioles begin a seven-day homestand against the Kansas City Royals.

In case you missed it, former Orioles pitcher Denny Bautista is changing teams again. After the Tigers designated him for assignment last week to make room for Joel Zumaya, they dealt him to the Pirates for minor league pitcher Kyle Pearson.

This is Bautista's sixth organization in six years, proving once again that having an upper-90s fastball isn't enough in this league.

I still wouldn't trade him for Jason Grimsley, but the guy was vastly overrated as a prospect. If we were compiling a Top 5 list, he might have to be included.

I also want to clarify something I wrote a few days ago, as long as we're talking about lists. The scout who was critiquing the Erik Bedard trade wasn't saying it is the greatest ever, just that it might move ahead of the Bartolo Colon and A.J. Pierzynski deals among the all-timers. We didn't delve into No. 1, 2, etc.
