My fantasy lineup -- this week's transactions

I'm currently participating in a 12-team mixed league with 11 members of Hardcore Country.

The scoring system is 5x5 roto with one disabled list spot. Each week I'll list my rosters, the moves I made and a brief update on what I'm thinking with some of the players.

Currently, I'm in seventh place.

No transactions this week

I have made no moves this week.

I'm in an interesting spot. I'm in seventh, which is definitely lower than I expected to be. I was first for a while until injuries started to take their toll and now I'm sticking it out with what I consider to be a good lineup.

I don't have many expendable parts at this point. Orlando Cabrera is one, when Rafael Furcal returns. Maybe Randy Winn or David Murphy, if they fall off the map. But overall, I'm happy with the roster and I'm just looking for better production.

Thinking About

David DeJesus, OF (KC): I'm tempted to employ this guy for two reasons: he finally has some power and more than a handful of contenders are inquiring about his services. David DeJesus cranked only six home runs all of last year and has eight already. Over the last month, he's batting .374 with five home runs, 17 runs, 19 RBIs and three stolen bases. This guy shouldn't be on the waiver wire and at this time next week, you'll probably see him on my team.

Russell Branyan, 3B, OF (MIL): Russell Branyan is a great story. The one-time top prospect has had the Adam Dunn syndrome throughout most of his career -- where he either strikes out or hits home runs -- and was basically written off because of it. But now he's connecting at a decent pace and striking out far less. He's batting .305 over the last month with nine home runs, 13 runs and 14 RBIs. He has nine home runs in 59 at-bats and his .831 slugging percentage is the best in the National League since he got called up.
