It's a good thing the bullpen's been so good, because the Orioles' starters aren't pitching deep into games.

Adam Loewen allowed two two-run homers in 4 2/3 innings, and manager Dave Trembley is bringing in Matt Albers. Loewen struck out Richie Sexson twice, but he wasn't allowed to face him a third time.

Loewen crouched and slammed his glove on the mound after Jose Lopez connected in the fifth to give Seattle a 4-2 lead.

No starter has gone a full six innings. Two of them failied to make it past the fifth.

Meanwhile, the Orioles scored twice in the fourth on doubles by Kevin Millar and Luke Scott, and an error by shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt. Scott tripped on second base or he would have gotten a triple. And he stumbled rounding third on Betancourt's error, drawing laughs from the dugout.

Brian Roberts walked and stole second in the third inning. He also appeared to swipe third, but umpire Paul Nauert blew the call. Melvin Mora followed with a double that should have scored Roberts.
