Being .500 isn't so bad.

That's where the Orioles are headed, trailing 5-3 in the eighth. But Luke Scott just doubled to score Kevin Millar.

There's still hope.

Gavin Floyd retired the first 12 batters he faced before Millar reached on an infield hit. Nick Markakis slugged a two-run homer in the sixth to tie the game, but neither run was earned because of first baseman Paul Konerko's error.

Konerko reached down for Luis Hernandez's ground ball. Next time, he might want to bend at the waist.

Jeremy Guthrie was cruising along until giving up back-to-back homers to Carlos Quentin and Joe Crede leading off the seventh. Guthrie had retired 13 of 15 batters before the inning.

Quentin hit his second homer in the eighth, this one off Dennis Sarfate.
