Patriots helped make Boller a Raven

We send props to The Boston Globe's Mike Reiss for pointing this out in his own blog, but tonight marks an interesting reunion of the the principals in a significant trade involving the Ravens and the Patriots.

Baltimore quarterback Kyle Boller is, in fact, a Raven because of a deal between Baltimore and New England as part of the 2003 draft. That year, the Pats had two first-round picks, a No. 13 and a No. 19. The No. 13 they received from Buffalo for QB Drew Bledsoe, and the Patriots used that for defensive lineman Ty Warren. The Patriots then traded their original turn in the first round, No. 19, to the Ravens. The Ravens used that pick for Boller.

In exchange, the Pats got a 2004 second-round pick (safety Eugene Wilson) and a 2004 first-rounder (nose tackle Vince Wilfork).
