The National League Championship Series between Colorado and Arizona set record lows in ratings. It could be because the games started late. Or because the games were broadcast on WTBS.

Or because the games involved Colorado and Arizona.

And yet, would any of us be shocked if the Rockies won the World Series? They haven't lost since Don Baylor was manager.

They've actually won 21 of their last 22 games. Someone named Manuel Corpas is closing for them. He had 19 saves this season, or 19 more than last season.

It would be pretty cool if he had a sister named Christy.

Anyway, if I'm the Rockies, I don't want to stop playing. They'll be idle more than a week while waiting for Boston and Cleveland to finish the ALCS. That could be detrimental.

A Rockies-Indians World Series would allow more people to discover Matt Holliday and Grady Sizemore, two of the most underrated players in baseball - besides Manuel Corpas. (And by all means, use the manuel version. The automatic one isn't nearly as good).

Good to see LaTroy Hawkins in the post-season. He was a favorite of the Baltimore media after taking a public-relations beating in Chicago. And he's as health-conscious as anyone in the majors. Pretty much everything he consumes is organic. He's even researched the safest deodorants to use.

He's also the guy who referred to Whole Foods as "Whole Paycheck" because it's so expensive to shop there.

I heard so many negative reports about his pitching last season, how scouts noted that he no longer had any movement on his fastball and he was too hittable. He went 3-2 with a 4.48 ERA in 60 games with the Orioles. In Colorado, he was 2-5 with a 3.42 ERA in 62 games.

That's better than anything Jorge Julio's going to give you.
