The Orioles are expected to make a decision on Erik Bedard's status tomorrow. Manager Dave Trembley said they have three choices: Shut him down, give it more time or wait it out.

Two and three sound pretty much the same to me, so I'll narrow the list to two. And I'm guessing the Orioles shut him down.

Corey Patterson is taking batting practice, but his ankle is too sore for him to play.

Trembley met with pitcher Daniel Cabrera in his office before batting practice - though Cabrera told a small group of reporters that he hadn't spoken to Trembley. Sorry, Daniel, you were seen going into the office and shutting the door. And Trembley confirmed the meeting afterward.

Cabrera wants to put the matter behind him - but not before Trembley called his actions "uncalled for" and "unprofessional."

I asked Trembley if he was referring to the pitch, Cabrera's reaction afterward, or both, since the right-hander claimed that the ball slipped out of his hand before sailing behind Dustin Pedroia's head.

"The dog ate my homework, too," Trembley replied.

Gotcha.
