Someday I'd like to write a book, but for now I'll settle for an appearance in the "acknowledgments" section of Stewart Mandel's first masterpiece, "Bowls, Polls and Tattered Souls: Tackling the Chaos and Controversy that Reign over College Football."

It hits stores today, and I suggest you check it out. Not only because Stewart does a great job for SI, but any book with a chapter devoted to "recruiting geeks" knows something about college football. And he couldn't have picked a better anecdote to start that chapter with than the Antonio Logan-El circus at ESPN Zone in Baltimore.

If you love college football, you'll love this book. It touches on everything -- ACC expansion, the BCS, the Heisman Trophy race, scandals, recruiting, the NCAA and more. He wrote it with both wit and experience, providing a fun look at issues we all like to talk about over beer and pizza on Saturdays.

And it goes down just as easy.
