I completely forgot that the Ravens travel to Atlanta for a preseason game.
If Ray Lewis asks, "Any dogs in the house?", they better say, "NO!"
Animal rights advocates are protesting outside the NFL headquarters. Meanwhile, the Strippers Union is picketing outside the Titans' headquarters.
Yes, I'm told they have a union. Ask Pacman about the benefits.
I want you to imagine that you're Falcons owner Arthur Blank. You know there will be protests everywhere your team goes this season, as long as Michael Vick is the quarterback. Do you cut ties to this guy right now, figuring there's enough evidence against him that you want no part of him anymore, and he no longer can be the face of your franchise? Or do you stand behind him until after the trial, which probably will be delayed until after the Super Bowl because that's how it always seems to happen?
And if you stand behind him, what's a safe distance?
Maybe the NFL will save Blank the trouble and suspend Vick for the season, though there's talk of Vick taking a paid leave of absence.
That's quite a family. It's pretty bad when Marcus is considered the good son.
OK, about those Orioles...
I understand the reasoning behind sending down Garrett Olson, since the open dates on the schedule, and Steve Trachsel's return from the disabled list, leave no room for him in the rotation. But this demotion is temporary. He'll be back soon.
Trachsel will be traded or Brian Burres will go to the bullpen. Either way, Olson will get his share of starts in the majors over the second half. And we'll have a better idea if he should factor into the 2008 rotation or become the next John Maine and be a big winner in the National League.
