Some leftovers from tonight

Did you see where the Athletics acquired former Orioles reliever Julio Manon from the Reds?

Did you even know Manon was in the Reds' organization?

Check out these numbers on Erik Bedard: He's thrown 16 straight scoreless innings, allowing five hits, walking two and striking out 22. He's posted a 2.19 ERA in 14 starts since the beginning of May, allowing two earned runs or fewer in 11 of them. He's also won his last four decisions.

"We'll all have trouble against him, not just us," White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said. "I think a lot of people in this league will have trouble. He's one of the best lefties in the game."

What's going on with Paul Shuey's buzzed hair cut? Did he spend the All-Star break in prison?

Jim Thome walked twice tonight, giving him 1,421 for his career and moving him past Frank Robinson into sole possession of 21st place on the all-time list.

Commissioner Bud Selig says he won't attend the game where Thome takes sole possession of 20th.

Meanwhile, the White Sox just traded Thome for Milt Pappas.

The White Sox are 9-17 against left-handers this season, and they get Garrett Olson again on Sunday.

I'm just saying...

Before tonight, I hadn't talked to Olson since spring training. He laughed at how quickly one of the clubhouse attendants picked up his towel in front of his locker - actually before he was finished with it.

Welcome to the majors, kid.
