Revisiting the pop-up

Once again, Alex Rodriguez is in the middle of a controversy. He's been spotted with another blonde who isn't his wife.

Owen Wilson says they're just friends.

Unlike most people I've talked to, former Orioles center fielder Paul Blair sees nothing wrong with A-Rod yelling "Mine" - if that's what he actually said - and causing Howie Clark to back away from a pop-up.

"Without a doubt, you do everything you can to upset the other team," he said. "But there's no excuse for dropping the ball. He called for it. He has to catch it. You don't know your own teammates' voices?"

If the Orioles remain in wild card contention at the break, they get the rare chance to be buyers instead of sellers. That means trying to add another bat to the lineup.

I know Mark Teixeira's name comes to mind, but what do you have to give up to get him? What can a team trying to make the playoffs afford to lose in order to gain his bat?

And keep in mind, the Rangers will want pitching. Lots of it.
